I’ve been doing med for a while now. 1 year.
Med is a HARD career to study for. If your in it for the money, I can guarantee you won’t make it.
Your whole LIFE is consumed by it. You eat, sleep, dream MEDICINE.
A friend recently commented to me an analogy: Studying medicine is like eating pancakes. Everyday you have to eat 5 pancakes. Some days you hate you, somedays you don’t mind, other days you can’t get enough. BUT EVERYDAY YOU HAVE TO EAT THE PANCAKES. And if you don’t eat them one day, the next day they pile up.. instead of the minimum 5, you now have to eat 10..etc..
Thats how you study medicine. EVERYDAY.
But when you love the science, the mountain of medicine no longer seems like an impossible mountain to climb, but instead becomes a series of small hills that you overcome each day.
I love it and I can never see myself doing anything else.
What do I feel while studying? A RUSH.
